Chapter 6

We were exhausted as we made our way up to our rooms. I knew it wasn’t the long drive for either of us, but the drama that had happened since we’d been home. As much as I knew sleep was what we both needed, I knew we needed to be together even more. I swooped Malachi up into my arms as we walked up the stairs.

“I always wanted to carry my mate to our rooms the first time they saw it.” I explained as he let out a yelp and then stared up at me.

“Were you planning on being mated to a woman?”

“Nope. I just figured no matter my mate’s sex, I’d be bigger than them,” I answered, leaning down to lick his lips. “I like being the bigger one. Plus, who says men can’t be carried and swept off their feet? Romance isn’t only for those who have breasts.”

“I’m glad you think so.” He giggled as he started unbuttoning my shirt as we reached our door. I was glad right then that we were on the other side of the house from Micah and Riley’s rooms. “I like being in your arms. I love that you seem to want to touch me as much as I desire it.”
